Edema management: Always important to wear therapeutic compression hosiery on longer flights. Also important to get up and walk about and stretch when the pilot has noted that it is safe to do so... Important to prevent leg edema and possibly deep vein clots in your legs...

Yes : Swelling is not uncommon on long flights. Compression will help, but better to get up and stretch and flex and extend your feet and legs.
