Depends on: severity of swelling and your blood pressure. I doubt that your spider veins have any effect on swelling, unless you have large varicose veins. Ask your doctor for any suggestions on leg exercise or even a mild diuretic. If it is unilateral and painful swelling, dvt is a possiblity.
