Work with a trainer: There are no specific exercises that will prevent a lower back injury. If you are doing an aggressive program, it is best to work with a trainer or have your program directed by a physical therapist, professionals who are trained to monitor muscle usage and strain. In general, temper your weight program with stretching and flexibility activities and monitor muscle tightness and spasm.
