Not for most: The primary approach to correcting such a curve would be to open the back & place steel rods on either side from above to below the curve. In someone with breathing problems or other disability arising from a curve it would be worth while. For most, you try to catch it early & minimized with bracing prior to and during puberty and you live with the outcome you have after growth stops.
