Is there a difference between an orthopedic surgeon and a cervical spine surgeon?

Yea and no: Spine surgery is typically performed by orthopaedic and neurosurgeons. Most orthopaedic surgeons who perform spine surgery do a fellowship, which is extra training after the completion of a residency. Some neurosurgeons also do a fellowship.
