Non specific term : The term general Orthopaedic surgeon is very non specific and does not fit a specific definition. Most Orthopaedic surgeons that treat spine specialize in spine and often only spine. A non spine surgeon can diagnose your spine problem but you may need to see a spine surgeon if you require surgery. Therefore you may ultimately end up requiring two surgeons.
