Benign: Intraductal papillomas are usually a benign condition of a nodule in a breast duct. It can cause nipple bleeding and can sometimes be seen on mammogram or breast ultrasound. Surgery may be indicated to remove the papilloma to be sure it is benign. Hyperplasia can be a pre-cancerous change on or near the papilloma.

Papilloma: Correct, not cancerous benign breast papilloma that is excised completely and does not contain atypical hyperplasia does not increase your risk of breast cancer. Atypical hyperplasia can increase your risk of breast cancer.
