Low Salt: Low salt diet is suggested in those with cirrhosis. If one suffers from hyponatremia (low sodium), then one would not want to drink more than 2 liters of free fluid a day. I disagree with low protein diet. I actually encourage cirrhotics to maintain a diet high in protein as malnutrition should be avoided in those preparing for transplant.
