A member asked:

What percentage of woman have a diastolic blood pressure less than 60 mm hg? is it normal and expected?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Good health: A low diastolic is not bad, in and of itself. Mine is <50. What could be a problem is if it is usually >70 or 80, and then suddenly drops to 60, you don't have enough pressure during the resting phase of your heart beat to keep blood pressure or flow to the brain. There is not really a difference between men and women, per se, so i cannot reliably answer that question for women.
