No: There is very little radiation with esentinel node biopsy which does not exhibit any systemic side effects. But since you are usually undergoing general anesthesia, there may be some sickness after surgery due to the anesthesia.

No: The tracer is technitium sulfa colloid. Unless one has an allergic reaction is it innocuous.
