Physical terapy: Pelvic floor rehabilitation is the term used for physical therapy designed to improve the strength of muscles used to control continence. When a woman contracts her pelvic floor to "hold urine" it reflexively caused the bladder to relax. The stronger the contraction the more the bladder relaxes. Better muscle strength also aids in preventing leaking on the way to the bathroom or with stress/strain.

Nonsurgical therapy: Pelvic muscle rehab usually involves biofeedback therapy and electrical stimulation therapy. Biofeedback provides coaching for pelvic exercises to assure that you're doing them correctly. Electrical stimulation uses low-voltage electrical current to recruit all the muscle fibers that you cannot exercise on your own. Usually done weekly for about 6 to 8 weeks. This can be a very effective treatment.
