Can a breast lump removal cause lymph nodes along neck to swell?

HIghly unlikely: If done with sterile precautions. However, the armpit lymph nodes connect to those along the sub clavicle vein nodes and then into the neck. If the lump was cancer, you will need to have sentinel nodes checked, and if these neck nodes do not subside, they too need biopsy.
