NMS: Neuroleptics (antipsychotics) block certain Dopamine receptors in the hypothalamus (hypothalamic d-2 receptors) resulting in an elevated temperature set point and  impairment of the bodies ability to dissipate heat; it is also associated with blockade of other Dopamine receptors, which can  result in muscle rigidity and increased body temperature..
