Yes: The problem with surgery in women with mitral valve prolapse is avoiding any bacterial infection of the valves of the heart. All patients with valve abnormalities are given antibiotics to prevent bacteria from traveling through the bloodstream and attaching to the heart valves. This is called SBE prophylaxis for subacute bacterial endocarditis.

Very safe: Mitral valve prolapse is not a contraindication to undergo cesarean delivery. And SBE (subacute bacterial endocarditis) antibiotic prophylaxis is not indicated for majority of women with this condition.
