I have mitral valve prolapse. is it safe to take azithromycin? the booklet says it is contradicted with heart disease. thank you in advance?

Not all heart disease causes any problem with azithromycin and prolapsed mitral valve does not. This is a potential problem only for certain cardiac rhythm problems characterized by an EKG finding known as prolonged QTc interval. For more information discuss with your doctor or cardiologist.
