My dermatologist prescribed me hydrocortisone valerate for my lips, but can i use the otc hydrocortisone instead?

No: Hydrocortisone valerate is a mid potency steroid while otc Hydrocortisone is a low potency steroid. Therefore u would not get the same effect from the otc product as it is a weaker agent.
