SECOND DEGREE BURN: SECOND DEGREE BURN, is when the injury cause burning if the skin and blistering. You need to be reexamined and the severity assessed . I usually will start a topical antibiotic like SILVADENE and an oral antibiotic like CEFTIN (cefuroxime). Depending on severity a consult with a BURN SPECIALIST OR PLASTIC SURGEON MAY BE WARRANTED.
