Sure.: This is a kind of cyst involving a sebacrous gland and has a lot of dead skin cells or keratinocytes in it. This is why it gets bigger and needs to be removed, along with the possibility of complications. But it should not involve many hair follicles, as a lot of its growth is below the surface and does not extend past its capsule.
