Why would my oncologist want me to have a radical hysterectomy after already getting radiation and chemo?

Should ask him/her: Radical hysterectomy is most often performed in cervical cancer. However, it is not usually performed in conjunction wtih radiation or chemotherapy except in special circumstances. Therefore, you should ask your doctor to explain why this course is being recommended.
