I had a radical hysterectomy for cerv cancer, went through radiation & chemo, scan shows ventral hernia now. did surgery cause this...surgery?

Ventral/incisional?: It is important to distinguish if the ventral hernia is incisional. If so, en the surgery and subsequent radiation may have had something to do with this but may have been worth the risk to treat the cancer!

Probably: Ventral hernia is most often a complication of abdominal surgery. It's more common if factors that decrease wound healing are present. Chemo and radiation could contribute to that. It's unfortunate, but a known complication that can occur even to the best surgeons.
