It depends.: This depends on why you had this test in the first place. If you had symptoms like bloating and cramps and such, you might have delayed emptying and a borderline result can mean it is slower than normal, but not too slow. If you have the dumping syndrome, it can mean that it is faster than normal, but not fast enough to be diagnostic of this. So it depends on your condition and what is checked.

Borderline...: Gastric emptying studies are used to calculate the % gastric emptying at certain time points. Most institutions have a specific meal and protocol for imaging. At the end of the study, your % gastric emptying is compared to a normal database. Depending on the database, there is a cutoff value for normal/abnormal. You must be near the cutoff. The value may not be the same at all institutions.
