Does rozerem (ramelteon) affect the melatonin receptor, or your ability to produce melatonin naturally?

Melatonin receptors: Ramelteon (rozerem) selectively binds to specific melatonin receptors (the mt1 and mt2 receptors) in the part of the brain that controls circadian rhythm (called the suprachiasmatic nucleus), thus promoting sleep the way our body's own melatonin would.
