What are the privacy protections when seeing a pyschiatrist/psychologist? i would want dx, prescription if any only divulged at most, no notes, details.

Protected: When you see your therapist, you need to feel comfortable with them, and anything you tell them is protected information, with the exception of threats to yourself or others, which have to be reported to the police.

Officially protected: In the doctor-patient relationship, the private information is officially protected by laws. But the world is far from perfect, so we see stories in the news of confidential information (usually financial rather than medical) being stolen, purposely put on the web, accidentally posted online, etc... As we have witnessed in the past 20 years, privacy is a different ball game in this digital era.
