Local anesthetic: There is localized pain at the the donor site and recepient site. There will be discomfort for 1-2 days after the anesthetic will wear off.

Recovery: While the operation itself is done under anesthesia, the area where the skin is harvested from ("donor site") can be sore during the recovery phase.
