Not really: The aic test generally tells us what has been going on with your sugar over the past 3 months approximately. One does not really have to fast for it, but it is best done fasting in my opinion, because your doctor will probably want to see a fasting blood sugar at the same time to help manage your diabetes. Often a lipid panel is done at the same time, which requires one to be fasting.
