Not necessarily: The laser will remove the surface of the keloid, but it can and often will grow back quickly and larger. Close follow up after removal of keloid scar tissue is absolutely necessary to catch recurrences early and treat accordingly. Preventing keloid recurrence can be done using injected corticorsteroids, radiation treatment and some topical products. See a dermatologist.
