A member asked:

How much is involved during a kidney scan?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

See below: If you mean a ct [computorised tomography] scan of the kidney, it may involve giving a dye intravenously which may be required for outlining structures within the kidney. It can also be done without the dye. The dye may cause disturbances to your kidney function which in most cases is reversible.Your doctor and radiologist determine if the dye is required. You may have to fast before the test.
