A member asked:

Are church elders good for advice on family relationships, or are they too biased?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Yes and No: Church elders can provide advice on family relationship to the extent that they have the knowledge, training and experience to do so. However, like any profession, it is important that a person only "practice" within his or her area of expertise. Knowing one's limit and then providing a professional referral is important.
