Splints and NSAIDs: You should try wearing so-called carpal tunnel splints. You also should avoid activities that may aggravate your symptoms. Finally since there is a possibility of some tenosynovitis causing compromise in the carpal tunnel, nsaid's may be helpful - both pain pain control; and inflammation control.

More swelling?: Symptoms are made worse with increased swelling. Did your activities increase prior to the onset? You can try anti-inflammatories, contrast baths, strict elevation and edema control while maintaining motion, and splinting. If symptoms persist see a hand surgeon.
