Possibly: Any joint prosthesis may click, squeak, or make other noise.

Sometimes: When you replace a knee surface with metal against polyethylene, sometimes you will hear a tapping sound of the two materials when walking. Sometimes this is heard more in the first few weeks after surgery until the swelling reduces. It generally does not create a squeaking sound. This is a phenomenon heard with ceramic on ceramic hip replacements not with knee replacements.
