The danger: Was the problem with her intestine that caused it to be removed. Yes life can return to normal...She may need some dietary adjustments, and hopefully your surgeon, pediatrician, and GI specialist can assist you. There is no danger to her life having her intestines removed.

Depends: A lot depends on the reason for removing the intestine. Various reason exist such as necrotizing enterocolitis, hirschsprung's disease, or volvulus. At that age most infants will adapt well by thge time they are ready for potty training.
