See doctor...: Sometimes bronchospasm can occur after a bronchitis infection resolves. You may need a bronchodilator and perhaps a steroid inhaler to completely resolve this residual cough. So, see your doctor again so this treatment can be initiated.

If worsens, M.D.: It is actually quite common to have a mild intermittent cough with a respiratory infection. If you develop prolonged cough, lasting more than three weeks, fever, chills, vomiting or other signs, I would advise seeking medical attention. If you have a history of wheezing, then reactivity of the airway may occur during and following an infection, particularly a viral infection.
