A member asked:

How do you get an eleveted ck-mb when you are not having a heart attack?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Other muscles: Ck-mb can be elevated in muscular damage of any kind, ck-mb is also present in the musculoskeletal system's muscles. You can also get heart ck-mb elevation in the settings of viral infections of the heart, or severely low blood pressure, or severely elevated blood pressure, or very low blood levels, which lead to a global decrease in o2 delivery to the muscle and damage, but not a heart attack.
