Depends: The site of obstruction by stone determines where the stone is. Upper ureteral/ renal pelvic obstruction leads to flank pain or tenderness. Lower ureteral obstruction causes pain in lower part of abdomen going to genital area. The pain is mostly colicky- rather than continuous, severe pain comes and goes.
