How effective is venlafaxine on anxiety disorders. or is it just an antidepressive?

Venlafaxine is…: Approved & used for major depression, social anxiety, generalized anxiety, and panic disorders. It has the advantage of not being addictive as most of the benzodiazepine family of anxiety meds (xanax/valium/etc) but the disadvantage of not working as quickly as those others. Buspar (buspirone) is another option for treating anxiety. Consult with your doc which one may be best for you.

Very effective: Most anti depressants including venlafaxine are both good anti depressants and anti anxiety medcations.
