Soulfully: Animals have been found to stimulate social interaction & ease agitation in dementia patients + simply give them pleasure. Maybe it has to do with the unconditional love & acceptance that pets seem to provide, and the manner in which they relate to us without highlighting our cognitive challenges; they seem to relate to dementia patients at an intuitive, nonverbal, non cognitive & soul level!
