Soulfully: Animals have been found to stimulate social interaction & ease agitation in dementia patients + simply give them pleasure. Maybe it has to do with the unconditional love & acceptance that pets seem to provide, and the manner in which they relate to us without highlighting our cognitive challenges; they seem to relate to dementia patients at an intuitive, nonverbal, non cognitive & soul level!

There are 3 types: Named for the brain areas that are affected, the frontal and temporal lobes, there are several different variants of this type of dementia. Some of these types of dementia have prominent problems with words - either slowly losing the ability to speak or losing the ability to makes sense when one talks. There is an impulsive, disinhibited personality variant also.
