Self-confidence: Impaired reasoning can occur with many different types of mi. It can lead to bad decisions (manics who spend all their money) or isolation (people who are so fearful they cannot be around others). We rely on being able to trust our judgment; severe mental disorders, left untreated, can deprive us of that conerstone of functioning.
