A member asked:

If broca's area is malformed or destroyed, does that affect only speech or verbal reasoning, too?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Depends: It depends on the etiology, historical aspects, etc. Classically, Broca Area typically is associated with verbal expression without loss of understanding. Interestingly, there are studies noting those individuals who are multilingual can have preservation of one language with loss of another when Broca Area is affected with causes like stroke.
