Pain: Broken necks=cervical fractures present to the doctor or hospital with neck pain. There can be weakness, nerve dysfunction or neurologic symptoms, but neck pain and a desire to keep the neck still without letting it move is the main symptom.

It depends: A fracture in the cervical spine can cause pain. If it causes any pinching of the spinal cord or nerves, this can be associated with weakness, numbness, or pain radiating down the arms or legs. If severe, paralysis could result.
