How do you treat a cervical fracture?

Depends on location: Fractures of the cervical spine are the result of severe trauma to the neck and treatment varies with the location of the fracture in the vertebra; the presence or absence of injury to other structures especially the spinal cord. These need a complete evaluation including cat scans; dynamic films etc before any treatment can be decided.

Take it easy: Most spine fractures will heal within 3 months with bracing, limiting strenuous activity and close follow-up with a spine specialist. Some fractures require surgical stabilization. Check out spine-health.Com.
