Varies: It varies depending on the services needed. If you need people for round-the-clock care, it can get very pricey. If you just need someone a few hours a day to help the person bathe, dress, daily cares, a few household things, then it is usually quite affordable. Many local health departments have very inexpensive in-home care services for the elderly & medicare may even reimburse part or all.
