A member asked:

What's the follicle-stimulating hormone?

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Ovulation hormone: Follicle-stimulating hormone (fsh) is produced by the anterior pituitary gland. Specifically, a cyclical increase in fsh secretion by the pituitary causes ovulation. Fsh also regulates the development, growth, pubertal maturation, and reproductive processes of the body. Fsh & lh act synergistically in reproduction. As a test for menopause , the fsh is chronically elevated.
