Nothing, legally: Except for certain psychiatric conditions, patients have the right to discharge themselves from the horpital or an er. For medico-legal purposes, the organization will want you to sign a document stating you know you are leaving against medical advice (ama). The question you should ask yourself is what will happen with the problem that got you there in the first place.
