Herbal sedative: It is used to help people relax or get to sleep. There have not been any serious adverse health effects that i've heard of. Since it comes from a root and is unregulated, don't expect the tablets to be well-standardized.

Valerian Root: Valerian root is used for sleeplessness, anxiety, as an antispamodic (abdominal cramps, premenstrual syndrome, menstrual cramping, ^ flatus & muscle spasm), congestion & fever.
