Not recommend: Most of the time when children are sick due to virus, but you do not want to give to other children in the pool. Furthermore their immnune system is not strong while they are sick, they can get other infection that are consider opportunistic like fungus.

Yes: As long as your child does not have a fever, he/she can do what ever they feel up to. I would not let them swim if they have diarrhea.
