Usually not: Waking up with a numb arm can be the result of laying on the arm for a long period of time, causing prolonged compression of a nerve. However, the same symptoms can be due to an underlying condition such as carpal tunnel syndrome or cervical radiculopathy. Occasional symptoms are probably nothing to worry about. However, if you frequently wake with numbness in the hand or arm, see your doctor.
