A member asked:

How rare would it be for a healthy 38 yo woman with no family history of muscular dystrophy to get it?left non-dominant arm/hand feels slightly weaker than right.wake up with tingly, numb arm at night.no pther weakness or symptoms.serious? i'm healthy

A doctor has provided 1 answer

Unlikely: I would not think of MD with such symptoms. There are other issues that have one sided or localized weakness as a presenting symptom. The origins range from transient & benign issues to progressive & bad ones. You need to see your doc to start sorting this out.
