Can being unusually happy make one manic?

No! Enjoy it!: Being unusually happy is not a problem by itself. Of course, since it is "unusual, " it is not likely to last forever, so enjoy it and appreciate the reasons why you're happy. If this unusual happiness is associated with problems or symptoms and lasts for a week or longer, consult with your doctor.

Agree with Dr. Smith: Being happy does not make one manic or hypomanic. However, euphoria can be a symptom of mania or hypomania.
