Obamacare can help: State or federal websites where you can go to buy insurance are called health insurance exchanges, or marketplaces. California's marketplace is called Covered California, and is where people can go to compare and select health plans offered by private companies, and to find out if they are eligible for Financial Aid. Meanwhile, go to a county (or charitable foundation) Ob-Gyn clinic for an exam.

Suggestions: You can't generally see any provider without costs (just like a hairdresser), but Planned Parenthood and community women's health provider are usually fairly low-cost. University, medical school, and teaching institutions usually have very affordable costs for health visits as well, if one is near you. Private practices may be willing to make payment plans for health care. Hope this helps!
