Not normal.: painful lump on face resulted from injection is not a normal phenomenon. watch out for infection or over-reaction to injected materials. confusing: injection into butt or cheek? for what reason?

Likely a reaction: You might have had a reaction to one of the components at the injection site. Injectables often have preservatives or other components in addition to the drug itself that can cause an inflammatory response in susceptible people. I've seen these take weeks to appear and up to 3 months to resolve. If it doesn't start improving in a few weeks, gets red/warm or you run a fever, see your doctor.
